2. WALK TO SCHOOL
It
was always a frustrating delight
To
walk child Clara to school
Because
every few yards, it seemed
There
was something
To
interest, intrigue, take her fancy.
“Come
on Clara, school starts in a few minutes!”
But
there were flowers,
Or
a cat that came purring to her stroking hands,
Or
an elderly neighbour
Clara
had to chat with.
Clara
dawdled, played, delighted,
School
could wait,
Her
whole life was before her,
She
had all the time in the world.
